Codes for invitations and tickets

A monogram on the invitation that opens the RSVP page, or a ticket motif that opens the programme. The code becomes part of the design, not a sticker on it.

Any link

RSVP forms, maps, programmes, photo albums, gift registries: the code opens whatever address you give it.

Printed once

An editable link lets you move the RSVP page after the invitations are in the post.

Print size

Print these at 4 cm across or larger; the generator gives the exact minimum for your design. How the sizes were measured.

Who this is for

Couples, planners and stationers who want the RSVP page, the map, the programme or the photo album behind a code that belongs on the invitation. A monogram in the couple's colour, or a motif from the stationery, drawn by the code's squares, looks designed rather than attached.

Event organisers use the same thing on tickets and posters: the event's mark as the code, opening the programme, the timetable or the ticket page.

Where it goes and how big

An invitation is held in the hand and scanned from 20 to 30 cm, so the smallest size the generator states, typically 4 cm for a monogram at Medium detail, is enough; 4.5 cm gives margin for cotton and textured papers, which blur edges. Gold and metallic foils cannot be scanned; print the code in ink, and keep the foil for the rest.

Posters are scanned from a metre or more: make the code 10 cm across at least, and place it at eye height, not at the bottom of the sheet. For a photo album code on the table at the reception, 6 cm on a matte card works in candlelight.

Static or editable

Invitations are printed weeks before the day, and plans change: the RSVP form moves, the album goes up after the wedding. An editable link lets the printed code follow: it opens a short paintqr.com address that you repoint from your account at any time, and it shows how many guests scanned it. A static code is fine when the address is final.

Questions

Can the code be in our wedding colour?

Yes. The Accent style draws the picture in one colour of your choice and keeps the rest of the code in black. Very light colours are darkened slightly so phones still read them.

What can the code open?

Any web address: an RSVP form, a map, the programme, a registry, a shared album. One code per link; a wedding usually has one for the RSVP and one on the day for the album.

Will it print well on textured invitation card?

Usually, at one size above the minimum. Textured and cotton papers soften the squares' edges; a matte coated card scans at the stated size.

Can we change the link after the invitations are sent?

With an editable link, yes, at any time from your account. The printed code stays the same.
